ASTER Women’s Chamber Choir is 25 years old!

ASTER is excited to be celebrating this landmark birthday. The Joint will be Jumpin’! Riddle Songs, Stuttering Lovers, duets, solos and guests playing flute and guitar will liven up this musical party.

We are honored to introduce you to an inspirational piece composed by local singer, author and speaker Sara Giita Flores. I Rise encourages us all to take the risk to blossom. Good advice for a choir named after a flower! Those who have followed ASTER for some time will recognize Sara as one of the members of the choir and a soloist with a commanding stage presence. Now, you will get to know her as a conductor when the choir premieres I Rise.

The concert includes music by other women composers. How Can I Keep from Singing by Gwyneth Walker, Breaths by Sweet Honey in the Rock’s Ysaye M. Barnwell, She Sings by Amy F. Bernon and Eline Hagenberg’s stunning setting of O Love that Will Not Let Me Go.

There is Plenty Good Room for you at the party. Rumor has it that it will be an Unclouded Day.

Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 2 PM at the Broomfield Auditorium
